The International Scientific Conference on Bacteriocins and Antimicrobial Peptides – BAMP2012 was held during 21st – 23rd February 2012, in the university city of Kosice, Slovakia, in Doubletree Hilton Hotel.
The scientific programme focused on current advances in the science and research of bacteriocins and antimicrobial peptides.
At BAMP2012 leading scientists from industry and academia presented and discussed current advances in the research of bacteriocins and antimicrobial peptides. Key themes was isolation, characterization, mechanism-of-action, food, clinical and veterinary applications of novel or already characterized bacteriocins produced by lactic or non-lactic acid bacteria.
Further to its scientific content, BAMP2012 was a networking event, a unique opportunity to meet those who were worldwide involved with basic research or application development of bacteriocins and antimicrobial peptides. Initiation of cross-border co-operations between scientists and institutions was also facilitated.
